If you can justify it’s existence in your everyday life (or not everyday), more power to you.

I think there is a market.
For example, in Mexico they tax you per year on what kind of vehicle you drive. Since a truck is a “vehicle to do work” they charge a ridiculously low amount of money. Ridiculous as in that 70K truck will cost less in road tax than a Mitsubishi Mirage, let alone something like an Audi A6. Bad roads means that the suspension will be more than able to cope as well.

Well, we all know big domestic trucks and SUVs have a lot of play in the MSRP. Typically, you can get $8,000 - $10,000 off MSRP at this price point.
So $50,000 before tax and fees. Which makes this a very reasonable buy considering what you are getting. Loaded BMW 3-series and X3s are beyond this price range already.
This serves a good job as a 5 seat luxury vehicle, getting over 20 mpg on your commute during the week and allowing you to tow that big boat you have on the weekends in the bay.

Should a half-ton Ford be more expensive than a 5-series, GS350, and E-class? I say why not, as I cannot afford any of them anyway so it doesn’t affect me.

by that standard, you shouldn’t buy an M5 over a Taurus unless you can justify the M5's existence in your everyday life.

I know there is a small market for these or else they wouldn’t sell that trim level, but it still irks me that you can pay that much for an F-150 with a 4 or 6 cylinder in it.

When you think about it, aren’t all trims of all cars technically limited?

dont they still make something like a 1980's VW Rabbit or Golf or something in Brazil?
i think the Shelby Cobra (yes its not the same) kinda lives on as an unlimited car. they will be making kits for those forever

That also is true. But then again.......
I could be pedantic and go over all the tired tropes.

I was laughing a little at that too. You mean no V8? You get a V6? All the panache, leather and looks, but no power?

That’s my thinking on it. it just seems a bit soulless to not have a big motor in a truck that loades out with everything else.

It’s okay, let’s not rock the boat.

Agreed. Again, it’s why I said there has to be a market or else they wouldn’t be selling them. We may not like the choices and that is perfectly fine, but they are still there for others to choose.

1: there is no 4 banger in the f150
2: that V6 is the top engine...soooo duh?

Yeah I had a brain fart. When I think of an ecoboost I automatically assume 4 cylinder. Good catch.
